Your privacy
In short: we collect only what we need to send you what you asked for, deliver your order and improve this site. We never sell your personal information. Ad and analytics cookies load only if you accept them. You can unsubscribe, see, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing [SUPPORT EMAIL].
Who we are
This site is run by [BUSINESS NAME], [BUSINESS ADDRESS] ("we", "us"). The person responsible for privacy is [PRIVACY OFFICER NAME], reachable at [SUPPORT EMAIL].
What we collect
- What you give us. Your first name and email when you ask for a free guide (the Starter Kit or The Survival Food Garden), and anything you write to us through the contact form or by email.
- Your soil-test answers. If you take the 60-second soil test, we keep your answers and score with your email so we can send advice that fits your garden.
- When you buy. Orders are processed by ClickBank, the retailer for this product. ClickBank collects your payment details under its own privacy policy; we never see your full card number. We receive your name, email, what you bought, and for printed packs your shipping address.
- Printed packs. To print and ship them we pass your name and shipping address to our store platform (Shopify) and our print partner (Lulu).
- The community. If you join our private community on [COMMUNITY PLATFORM], that platform's privacy policy covers what you post there.
- Automatically, only with your consent. If you click "Accept" on the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics and the Meta and TikTok ad pixels. They record things like the pages you view, your device and browser, your approximate location and which ad brought you here. If you decline, they don't load.
- Small things your browser keeps. Your cookie choice, and the ad-campaign tags in the link you arrived on (so we know which ad worked), are stored in your own browser, not on our servers.
- Fonts. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google and shares your IP address.
How we use it
- To send you the free guides and the emails you signed up for, matched to your soil-test results if you took it
- To deliver your purchase, printed packs and bonuses, and to handle refunds and support
- To see which pages and ads work, so we spend less showing ads to the wrong people
- To prevent fraud and meet our legal, tax and accounting duties
We don't sell your personal information. We don't use it for automated decisions that affect you.
Emails
Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link, and our business address. We follow Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) and the US CAN-SPAM Act. Our email service is [EMAIL PROVIDER].
Who we share it with
Only with companies that help us run the business, and only what they need: ClickBank (orders and payments), Shopify and Lulu (printed packs), [EMAIL PROVIDER] (email), [COMMUNITY PLATFORM] (community), and Google, Meta and TikTok (analytics and ads, only if you accepted cookies). We may also share information if the law requires it, or with our accountant or lawyer. These companies may store data in the United States or other countries.
How long we keep it
Email sign-ups: until you unsubscribe. Order records: as long as tax and accounting rules require (usually [7] years). Messages to support: up to [2] years. Analytics data: as set in each provider's retention settings.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Email [SUPPORT EMAIL] and we'll reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm it's really you.
- Canada: you have rights under PIPEDA and, in Quebec, Law 25. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
- California and other US states with privacy laws: you can ask what we collect, ask us to delete or correct it, and opt out of "sharing" for cross-context advertising by declining cookies or emailing us. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
- EU and UK: you have GDPR rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object and take a copy of your data, and to complain to your data-protection authority. We rely on your consent (emails, cookies), on our contract with you (orders) and on our legitimate interests (keeping the site secure).
Cookies
The banner on our sales page lets you accept or decline analytics and ad cookies. To change your mind later, clear this site's data in your browser settings; the banner will ask again on your next visit.
Children
This site is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use reputable providers and keep access to your information limited to the people who need it. No method of storage or transfer is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect it.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top, and for big changes we'll tell subscribers by email.
